Phew! It's been a busy couple of weeks!
After Greg and Nic and Daisy left us we were visited by the wonderful Chris and Mark. It was lovely to spend time with them... and we think they will be VERY impressed with how the outdoor steps are coming along! (They gave us a bit of help in the early stages...)

Stuart has been working really hard on these to get them just right, and under cover of darkness tonight the steps have been put into place and the whole thing is nearly done. They look AMAZING!

(in this picture you can see one of our windows wrapped up in cellophane - they arrived on Monday safe and sound and very beautiful!).
We have also had a bit of wintery weather up North. Some pretty hefty winds took our polytunnel last week. All the poly has pretty much gone (along with any remaining tomatoes we had) and some of the wood and metal skeleton has been damaged.

Stuart was home alone when the storm hit and he had to try to salvage the polytunnel as best he could - it looks very different now to how it was in all it's beautiful summery glory.

The steps look absolutely terrific Stu. Well done! Am looking fwd to trying them out as I havent been up in the hayloft yet. V sorry to see the pic of the polytunnel though. Another job to do when there are so many on the list!! Will you wait til the Spring to fix it, when the chance of damage happening again lessens or do it soon? Hope V is enjoying being back at school.

At last a picture of the steps. Well done Stuart, they're looking really good. Grandad would be proud of you.
So sorry about the poly tunnel. You must have had quite a gale blowing up there.
Love Mum

Hi Guys, Looks like a lot of works been done, sorry about the poly tunnel. I don't know what to say. The stairs look great and it seems you have all been hard at it. Did Stuart get another job, Sarah told us you had gone for an interview, but didn't know if you got the job. Anyway hope you are in the house soon. Hope you and the girls are all fine.

Hello steading gang!

What a nightmare about your tunnel - the winds here too have been brutal.

Hope you are all ok!

In May 2007 we packed our bags and headed for the Highlands. We setup a blog and unfortunately the Gremlins did for it. So here is BLOG: The Revenge.
